In response to public concern about the management of Crown Land, an Upper House Parliamentary Inquiry is underway, which terms of reference include:

  • the extent of Crown land and the benefits of active use and management of that land to NSW
  • the adequacy of community input and consultation regarding the commercial use and disposal of Crown land
  • the most appropriate and effective measures for protecting Crown land so that it is preserved and enhanced for future generations
  • the extent of Aboriginal Land Claims over Crown land and opportunities to increase Aboriginal involvement in the management of Crown land.

Submissions close 5pm on Sunday, 24 July.  We encourage you to make a submission to let the government know how much you care about Crown land and why the proposed changes do not provide sufficient checks and balances to ensure that the public estate is retained.  Please personalise the submission where you can.
